Book Club

Sue's book club meets every month to chat about that month's book, which has to be a novel by an author never previously featured (and the club - an offshoot of SWOG - goes back many years).

They also chat about holidays, and life in general. This is the first time that they haven't left their homes to meet, but thanks to 'Zoom' they were able to have a two hour meeting of the type that has been possible for many years. I recall video conferences at work going back to the 1990s, resented by those who loved to spend time driving around from meeting to meeting.

Anyway, last night's session went well, punctuated in the background by requirements from Boris, to which we will adhere. "STAY AT HOME".

Everything apart from Sue being required to go in to work today rather than work from home (not very clever in my view) seems to be on hold. We have lots of 'projects', but lack of inertia must be overcome.

Take care.

One bright side is that many people may discover talents they never knew they had as they invent ways of keeping occupied. I can see you becoming Bird Photographer of the Year.

Seriously I am sure you will be concerend about Sue having to work at the hospital - my daughter who is a teacher is thankfully able to work from home even though her school is acting as a hub for ellligible children; she is coordinating all the on-line commnication.

I wish you and Sue all the best.

Thanks Conrad, I don't think I'll ever become a BPY! But I'm glad the window cleaner has made a recent visit!

I've tried and failed to get Sue to put more pressure on to work from home, so we'll just have to make the best of it. Not much more I can say or do about that... it seems that Sue will save more lives by going to work than by staying at home, never mind any collateral damage.
