Here's the view from our home for this week, MacKenzie's Peak, with no need to stand on a settee to get it.
Today's walk was a 20 km circuit from the ruined church of Cill Chriosd, a short way down the Elgol road from Broadford.
After driving to the start in torrential rain, eleven of us disembarked from our cars into sunshine and the need for sun tan cream.
We walked west along the road, with good views across Loch Cill Chriosd with a backdrop of Blaven.
After a while we left the tarmac and turned onto a track to Camas Malag, with superb views back to Blaven.
Loch Slapin became our foreground for a while at a site for elevenses.
The track became a path and followed the coast past some waterfalls that turned into easily crossed trickles by the time they reached the path.
Lunch was taken in a sheltered spot near the Suisnish ruins. A Ring Ousel flew past and Cuckoos were heard in the distance.
It's a lovely coastal path with more waterfalls.
Yellow Iris's provided a bit of colour in some boggier spots.
We passed through the sites of Suisnish and Boreraig, where in the 1850s the Highland Clearances saw hundreds of crofters evicted and their houses burnt down.
Beyond Boreraig, seven of our party decided to climb to the modest 301 metre summit of Beinn nan Carn. It was a short but challenging diversion, great care being needed to avoid tussocks and sink holes.
It was a great relief to rejoin the excellent path that is a feature of this fine circuit. I for one had very wet feet thanks to numerous concealed wet holes.
We took all of 7 hours to complete the 20km circuit, which included 500 metres of ascent.
Here's the route.
