High Cup Nick

I hadn't been here for quite some time, so it was good to get a sunny day on Saturday for the walk from Dufton to this highlight of the Pennine Way footpath.

I'll write a fuller report in due course.

[Note: Blogger problems again. I was unable to post from my 'phone during the weekend, but it appears not to be just a mobile blogging problem, as Open Live Writer doesn't seem to be working properly apart from text only postings. This posting is being sent from the really awkward to use Blogger platform.]

A fantastic spot. One of my fav’s. I’m having blogger problems too. My last blog post took me ages and it’s just a simple posting.
I ended up writing the text and then publishing it. Then immediately going into edit post and adding one picture at a time. Most frustrating and makes me feel like not bothering.

Thanks Alan. Whilst of little comfort to you, it's interesting to note that others are having problems with Blogger. I'm trying to make daily postings for my mother's benefit at present, so the failure of both my phone (to my Blogger email address) and Open Live Writer is somewhat of an annoyance.

Currently, messages posted to Blogger by phone to the email address just disappear into the ether. But if I go into the Blogger dashboard on the phone by clicking on 'View web version' at the end of the postings summary, then 'New Post' at the top of the next screen, I can create an illustrated posting using images taken with the phone (themselves hard to find).

Using OLW, I can send text only postings, but as soon as I attach an image I get the following message:

'The service blogger has thrown an exception: Google.GoogleApiException: Google.Apis.Requests.RequestError
Not Found [404]
Errors [
Message[Not Found] Location[ - ] Reason[notFound] Domain[global]
]

at Google.Apis.Requests.ClientServiceRequest`1.Execute()
at OpenLiveWriter.BlogClient.Clients.GoogleBloggerv3Client.EditPost(String blogId, BlogPost post, INewCategoryContext newCategoryContext, Boolean publish, String& etag, XmlDocument& remotePost)
at OpenLiveWriter.BlogClient.Blog.EditPost(BlogPost post, INewCategoryContext newCategoryContext, Boolean publish)
at OpenLiveWriter.PostEditor.UpdateWeblogAsyncOperation.DoWork()
at OpenLiveWriter.CoreServices.AsyncOperation.InternalStart()'

This is all extremely annoying. I'm forced to try this: draft a posting in OLW, copy and paste into Blogger's 'New posting' after opening the Blogger dashboard, editing as best I can, previewing, then posting.

I may be some time...

When I use the blogger email address as per yourself the post just just disappears and then a couple of days later I get a message to say blogger hasn’t delivered it. I found that if I just include 1 small photo it posts ok. Then if I go into blogger edit I can add more photos but I can’t sort them into sequence. I also cannot scroll down pages. As you say, it’s frustrating.

Interesting. I've just composed a posting for the weekend using OLW, and pressed 'publish' more in hope than expectation, then waited for over 10 mins watching it trying to send, expecting an error message, then it 'went'.
Maybe it was one of the regular Microsoft/Google communication glitches that blight the Blogger experience...
Still not working from the phone though. Hang on - it does work if I attach an image. Weird, but clearly not anything to do with my equipment as you have the same experience.
