Wednesday 31 May 2023 - A Goyt Valley Wander

An evening stroll with Stockport Walking and Outdoors Group (SWOG), starting from the vicinity of Pear Mill, on the outskirts of Stockport. Sue and I never did find out where we should have parked - after a hold up on the M60 we just encountered the walkers, abandoned the car in a side street, and joined them.

A detailed description of the walk is somewhat superfluous, but here are some pictures from the perfect summer's evening.

Our route is marked in light blue on the map below. We went astray at the start, then clockwise on the 7km route, taking about an hour and a half.

An excellent way to spend the evening in the company of about fifteen other 'SWOGers'.

Monday = Isabella Morning (49)

After being away for a couple of weeks, it was a pleasure to visit Isabella for a little while on Monday morning.

She seemed pleased to see us.

Isabella has found a new hat to supersede her crown, which had been discarded nearby.

Daddy's recent birthday had generated a cake (thank you Grandma Wendy) that Isabella helped us to finish.

"Yes, I do like cake!"

The Didsbury train set is now quite extensive, and has a new car circuit bought with Great Grandma Dot's Christmas money. Isabella loves it.

Now for Jacob and Jessica. While we were away, they took part in a running event in Manchester, both completing the 2km course at a good pace and raising funds for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, who looked after their mum for an uncomfortable six weeks last year. Well done you two.
