The above picture was actually taken yesterday (Wednesday) in Paddock Lane, near Dunham Massey, where swathes of daffodils line the roadside. For me it was a rare outing on Stumpy, just to check that the bike was still in working order as I’ll need it on 28 April for an attempt on the Mary Towneley Loop. Apart from the front mudguard falling off it seemed ok, albeit slow and heavy as ever; I arrived home splattered with mud.
The last day of March had seen me walk down the canal towpath to Dunham whilst Sue drove there and spent a while in the Winter Garden with her camera.
I’ve posted pictures from the Winter Garden on these pages before (click on the ‘Dunham Massey’ label to find them) but on this visit Sue took a few more nice pictures that are displayed in her Facebook album, some of which are reproduced below in the order in which they were snapped.
Finally, back to the daffs in Paddock Lane – my own very small contribution to this posting.
It’s a week of planning future trips without much outdoors activity. A lot of coffee is being consumed.
