Wednesday = Isabella Day (59)

In a minor shift of grandparenting duties, we looked after Isabella on a Wednesday. She was still in her party dress, and keen to go to Antz in your Pantz, just a short walk (or in today's case a 'carry') from our house in Timperley.

After the inevitable jumping session, a new dance floor was discovered.

Then a trip to the 'under 5' area, for driving and building.

Maybe not exactly 'building'.

After an hour or so Sue and I needed coffee. Isabella needed cake. (We all needed cake!)

She used to need to be accompanied on the big blue slide. She's growing up though.

Back at home, Isabella made a banana cake mixture.

After lunch and a nap, the cake had cooked and cooled. Teddy sampled it.

It was very tasty.

Then a picture of a butterfly, work in progress for a few weeks, was finally finished.

Before going home, a bit more bouncing.

And a bedtime story for Teddy.

Two runs

Saturday 28 October 2023 - Wythenshawe parkrun #545, and the usual pictures from the rear of the field.

I did speed up a bit, finishing in position 130 out of 235 runners, in 31:29. Sue did a creditable 25:12 - position 54 and 4th female. Full results are here.

Pictured below, fast Zoe and her mum Maggi, who despite being over 75 gets around in under 35 minutes.

We returned to the tea room, with some regulars and some not so regulars. Good to see you, Ron.

Sunday 29 October 2023 - Marshalling at the Community run.

I was positioned at the turnaround point for the 2km runners. The little ones might get their feet wet in the puddle, so we adjusted the markers after this.

While D of E student Francesca stayed at the turnaround, Jean and I (well mainly Jean) provided guidance and traffic management at the tea room turn. It was a busy morning.

I took a few photos of folk, some of whom had obeyed 'management' and arrived in Halloween garb.

Well done, everyone - it was a good turnout of around 111 runners and 13 marshals.

Friday = Isabella Day (58)

I love my snacks!

This was another lovely day with Isabella, starting with a snack, and finishing with a snooze.

This newly dicovered toy involves magnets

Hey Zakariah, thank you for the Duplo you have passed on to me - it's brilliant

Grandma Nell gave us a couple of tickets for 'The Smeds and the Smoos' at the Lowry Cenre.
Here we are waiting, for the performance to start. It was great

Afterwards, Grandad joined us and we went for lunch in the food hall.
Chicken wraps and chips. And lots of tomato sauce!

OK, I don't mind waiting with Grandad

Back in Timperley, we made some Playdough, then used it to make some people and animals

Look, the cat can fly!

Oops, missed. Can you spot the flying cat?

Here's my favourite snake...

All good fun

But rather tiring!

Later - on Saturday, the Dynamic Duo, Seb and Jacob, racing again. Well done, lads.

On Sunday, Mike, Sarah and Isabella found an excuse to visit Timperley for Sunday Lunch. A good excuse - their kitchen is being replaced.

Then a trip to Newton Park to collect conkers and play on the swings, etc. (The conkers had their own swing!)

Happy Days.
