Friday 29 October 2021 - de Quincey Park

Here's today's view in De Quincey Park, on a sunny '(not)parkrun' walk. Whilst the Lake District is flooded, and the OMM event has been abandoned, we've had hardly any rain in Manchester!

I'm now taking a weekend break from blogging as we'll be somewhere that I don't think will have wifi or a phone signal, or the opportunity to spend time blogging.

TGO Challenge - Wild Camps (No 72: 13 May 2017)

My second camp in 2017 was in Glen Etive, near sea level, at NN137459, after 22km and an early finish on my FWA (Fowl Weather Alternative) route as I chickened out of going up Beinn Trilleachan, a rocky peak with slippery slabs.A good spot with nearby water and nobody else around.

Tuesday 26 October 2021 - (not)parkrun number 468

Up to 3 October, I recorded more than 467 (not)parkruns on consecutive days. On the advice of my physio, and with my injured foot taped up and feeling a bit better, I did number 468 today, at a walking pace in 47 minutes, on my usual course, soon passing the place where Baguley Brook goes under the confluence of Walton and Frieston Roads. Pictured above, this is a view from the starting point of a 5km route that I set out in this posting.

The canal near Timperley Bridge was in bright sunshine as I passed by 40 minutes later.

The tape is now coming off my foot, but it does seem to have been of some benefit, even if the picture that I've now edited out of today's posting may not give that impression. Who wants to see a picture of a bandaged foot anyway!

On a 27km 'lolipop' ride to the Throstles Nest Bridge, Eccles, Barton Swing Bridge, and the Bridgewater Canal, this was the view this afternoon along the deserted towpath, just a few yards from the Trafford Centre.
