Wednesday 22 January 2025 - Around Wilmslow

Sue needed to collect some new trainers from Darren’s running shop in Wilmslow, so we combined that with a 5km stroll past Black Lake, into the centre of Wilmlow, and back through the Carrs on the parkrun route,

The Black Lake is pictured above, on another dull day on which we managed yet again to avoid the rain.

We were soon past the church and on the parkrun route.

Darren had mentioned that Saturday’s park runners had finished covered in mud. The route goes through this muddy puddle, and any alternative route is similarly muddy.

There’s a sculpture nearby. A memorial.

Our path turned left at Twinnies Bridge and headed back to the car park near Black Lake. The parkrun turnaround point on both laps is at the top of the slope beyond the cyclist. We love coming back down.

A nice little outing to brighten a rainy day. Then I went to Preston to visit Don - in hospital following a cycling accident that left him with a smashed pelvis. Black ice. Awful. You have our sympathy and we hope you get an early release…
