So it does look as if you made it before the rain!? What time did you arrive? When I arose at 4:45am your tent had gone. At several points on my way to the cost I noticed tracks - grass bent and twigs snapped. Did you find the strange river bridge behind Fetteresso castle? and the very useful railway bridge? (footsteps around former, but none that I saw at the latter)? Paul

Yes Paul, I actually got my tent up in Montrose before the rain, which started whilst I was downing a burger and chips at the Park.
I took the road around Fetteresso Castle as I wasn't sure about access through the castle grounds. I'd be pleased to get an email describing your own route - mine also used some forest tracks not marked on my old map.
PS I started at 4.15 and got to Dunnottar at about 8.50. Dry!
