In between ‘processing’ my TGO Challenge photos (now down to just 800) I’ve popped into Google Reader for a moment and found Andrew Walker’s rather explicit account of his party’s adventures by Loch Arkaig during this year’s event.
I notice he has borrowed some rather poor images from the web, so I thought I’d just upload a couple to demonstrate what it was really like.
On 11 May 2009, that is.
A beautiful spot.
Our own story of that day, somewhat in contrast to Andy’s experience, is here. For what it’s worth.
Happy Days!
Better luck next time, Andy… glad you survived!

Oh.
If only it had looked like that.
Such joy would there have been.
You must have taken it all with you. :)
Sue took it away with her.
She put it back last week.
It'll be there for you next year.
There's no need to be despondent!
Looks like you're enjoying writing up your adventures, anyway - it makes our crossing seem very mundane...
Seems a tad cruel to me! ha
Oh yes and here’s what you could have seen. lol
Oh dear, I didn't mean to be cruel, just to encourage 'Poor Andrew' to return to that lovely spot. It was nice to go back to those images - much better than the post I originally had in mind!
Just my sense of humour Martin. I’m sure Andrew enjoyed it.
It is a lovely place though. I remember walking it on the North side and thinking i will never get to the end. And that was in good weather so in dreadful weather they have my sympathy.
It was an interesting day.
In a masochistic way, I rather enjoyed it.
Not sure dave did though, poor bugger.
