Occasional Pyrenean Tractors (6)
This special bonus edition may be the last of this series. Proper tractors seem quite rare in the Pyrenees!
By the way, Alan, the steel foundry I worked in used a Massey Ferguson rescue truck that doubled as a tug...
Sent from our GR10 trip - see herefor our itinerary
The yellow one is a Case 580D built about 1980 and quite a lot of it looks like JCB styling from that era. Looks in very good nick.
The red one is a Same Delfino 35 built around 1970 ish. 4wheel drive too!. It probably had a cab on it or a ROPs frame hence why so much of it seems missing at the back.
I don’t recall a MF rescue truck? I will search the net for info.
BTW that old vehicle outside the Gite was probably an old Unimog.
Re your rescue truck (MF). It was probably built as a tow tug for the aircraft or mining industry. I will guess aircraft because the mining ones had too much specialist equipment on them. I can understand why you called it a rescue truck though. They did have that look about them. We also built similar things for Manitou, James, Trantor to name a few.

Great stuff. Thanks
Haha, our 1960s 'rescue truck' was actually just a regular MF tractor. It was a fine all purpose vehicle in the steel foundry!
