Friday = Isabella Day (47) and a parkrun

Here's Isabella, arriving with Teddy to attempt to start Wythenshawe's 521st parkrun.

Friday's portion of 'Purple Toast' seemed to provide an energy spurt.

Rather more healthily, I provided a lunch of chicken, sauteed potatoes, peas and sweet chilli. The plate, and another smaller one were duly demolished, leaving room for her favourite dessert. (AC.)

During this there were several distractions. Markus, having completed most of the Pennine Way, had returned - somewhat lacking in sleep, so he had enjoyed a lie-in while we collected Isabella from Didsbury. He joined us for a tram ride to Sale before being returned to a tram for the airport.

Then Graeme arrived for refreshments, having visited Timperley for his '75+' Covid booster jab.

Sue and Isabella made a crown that would be worn for the coronation of King Charles 111 the following day.

Books were read, and a farmyard was constructed.

Then she went home to dad, and Teddy went for a sleep-over.

Saturday morning found Isabella and Ted back at the park and raring to go, as per the header picture and the following three taken at the start, where she ran with grandad at the back of the field for a while. I think she'll get quicker!

That was very jolly, on a warm morning. Full results are here

A playground spell followed, but Sue had to leave early to ring church bells, and grandad had a coffee with Andy.

Happy Days, and thanks to Nell for giving up her Friday with Isabella.
