Tuesday 27 August 2024 - Croome Court

We chose to break our drive from Bath to Timperley by way of a visit to Croome Court, a National Trust property near Worcester.

Before walking around the interior of the house, during which time my camera stayed in my pocket, we enjoyed a 5km stroll around the park in which Croome Court is situated. Here are some of the highlights.

Statue of Pan

Dry Arch Bridge

The Lake

Monument to Lancelot (Capability) Brown

The Grotto

Sabrina

Bracket fungi

Island Pavilion

Detail from the Pavilion

Croome River near the Carriage Splash

Sunflowers in a neighbouring field

The Rotunda

Monument to the 6th Earl of Coventry

The Ice House

A view from inside the house towards the Malvern Hills

Holiday Fun - activities for children

The Chinese Bridge

River Croome from the Chinese Bridge

Church of St Magdalene

Then we lunched in the house, toured around the house, which has some interesting features that have recently featured on a BBC antiques programme, and went home.

Bath, your visit a contrast to mine in July 2013. "Twas the last day of my Kennet snd Avon Canal walk. I was smitten by intense heat and walked in a state of semi delirium and hallucination and things didn't improve on the train home from Bath. https://conradwalks.blogspot.com/2013/07/semington-to-bath-last-day.html
