This iconic flower grows in low, dense cushions, like a dwarf forget-me-not. It’s not all that common, but does live in gay abandon along the length of the Porta Vescovo ridge, high above Arabba in the Italian Dolomites.
There are great views towards the Marmolada massif from here, but that’s for another day.
