Indifferent weather kept us mostly indoors today, the highlight of which was a visit to Knutsford’s premier Mediterranean Bar and Restaurant, Etruria, where the Silvermoon Quartet played Cool Jazz whilst we enjoyed an excellent lunch.
Well done Hayley, Mike, Pete and Adam, it was indeed cool.
They play there at 1.30pm on the first Sunday of each month (perhaps the second Sunday in May – check in advance).
Highly recommended.
Afterwards Sue and I enjoyed a short walk in nearby Tatton Park.
We got wet…

How decadent. Beats Banana butties in Tandle Park.
Yes Alan, it was a cool way to spend a rainy lunchtime. I wouldn't normally blog about this sort of 'trip', but since Mike is in the band I thought I'd give him a plug. He and Pete are also members of a wedding band - Super Session(http://manchesterweddingband.co.uk/). The jazz band would actually be great for that pre-wedding/photographs etc period, with the session band taking over for the evening function.
Anyway, it's more jazz tonight - the Old Fashioned Love Band, at Eagley Jazz Club. See you there?
That looks like an interesting group. The guitarist must have to work hard without the support of another non-base instrument. You can't beat live jazz. Similar to Dianna Krall? - but she plays the piano as well as singing.
“erm, No.
Well the guitarist does his best...It's quite nice having that much space in the the music to play with actually, you don't have to worry about getting in the way of a piano player. Yes like Dianna Krall but without the piano, (and maybe a little more Mcr than NYC...) Thanks for the plug dad
