9 am start after a good sleep in our excellent room overlooking Windermere (the lake). A lovely day for walking, with clear views - no low cloud, no haze.
We soon picked up fantastic butties and a pie from the apple pie bakery.
Fine views from Loughrigg Fell. Bog asphodel and tormentil. Thirst quenching coffee at Chesters in Skelwith Bridge,
Above-mentioned fodder was savoured in a quiet spot with attentive mallards at Tarn Hows.
Lovely country walk to Coniston, encountering enthusiastic orienteering children.
Welcome pots of tea at Hollands in Coniston, before adjourning to Holly How hostel and a spacious room for four.

Good to see the shorts on and I hope it stays that way. Sue
The Lakes at its best. How lucky. Are you still planning on walking back to Timperley?
Not walking back to Timperley this time Alan. This is the Lakes itinerary that you rejected on the grounds of your being overseas...
Rejected is a bit harsh! It was just an unfortunate bit of timing.
Ok, 'declined' perhaps?
