5 and 6 November 2022 - Running in Wythenshawe Park

Wythenshawe Park's 498th event found me, as last week, marshaling at 'Far Bridge', where despite a bit of rain, 'Slippery Corner' wasn't so bad today.

The leaders on the first lap are pictured above, and the tail walkers are pictured in orange below, being lapped by other runners.

Sue and Cary jogged past a little later, together with loads of folk running at just inside 30 minute pace for the 5 kilometres.

Eventually, the tail walkers reappeared with other marshals, and I strolled with them to the finish, with everyone striving to collect as many of the course markers as they could!

We were back at base by 10 ish, with the last of the walkers taking about an hour to finish. Full results are here. Sue had kindly kept a hot mug of coffee for me at the token sorting table.

Sunday morning's volunteering was at the Community Run. My position at the second corner meant that I could wander over to the new BMX track to watch the start.

Above, the runners are lined up out of sight, but below you can see them setting off in the background, whilst others enjoy the BMX track.

There were over 100 participants, including many small children enjoying the 2km course. Most of the 5km runners, like those shown below, took between 20 and 30 minutes.
