Sunday 30 April 2023 - Craiganour (8) - Goodbye Craiganour, Hello Timperley

On a dreich morning by Loch Rannoch, we enjoyed a final flourish of eggy bread, bacon and maple syrup from Bee, before setting off in directions varying from Knoydart to Kent.

All 18 of us had enjoyed a great week in very considerate weather. I took a final picture (above), then Sue and I drove south, mostly in rain, via Aberfeldy and Crieff.

By the time we had reached Timperley and unpacked, the sun was shining and we enjoyed a 5km stroll through De Quincey Park and beside the Bridgewater Canal.

Everything looks rather greener than when we set off a week ago!

A good trip. Your inclusion of the journey home brings back memories of those long drives home with the caravan behind after Munro bagging and other sorties.

Yes, a good trip. The leisurely drive home contrasts with Munro bagging trips to the same area, leaving Manchester at 5:30pm and reaching Faskally by midnight, then returning via Carlisle or Darlington on Sunday night after a long day on the hills, ready for work on Monday morning. And I did all the driving. (Had more energy then!)

Just catching up on your Scottish trip. (Wordpress had stopped following you.)
That looked an enjoyable week in good surroundings.
Were you being catered for at the Lodge?

Yes BC, it was a joint 60th birthday (I wish!) celebration for Keith and David, fully catered by a chef and assistant that Keith and David organised for all 18 of us. The chef - Bee - was excellent, none of us needs to eat anything for a few days....
