Grayrigg Forest (a hill) - 494 metres

Could this be a Birkett, or was it too much of a thrutch for that?

Goodbye Lake District - the Langdales are fading from view in the heat haze.

Hello Dales - The Howgills will soon be passed by, but Whernside beckons.

I'm envious of you! I'm sitting at home in Timperley, duff but rapidly improving knee nicely elevated. A mug of coffee is beside me, along with a big lump of banana cake. Very nice...but I would MUCH rather be doing as you.

It's still very hot in Timperley (Tuesday @ mid-day) although there's talk of a 10deg (degF I assume) drop in temperature tomorrow.

Keep the postings coming!

John

Nice pics, Martin.

Oi! John! Get that kneee better double quick. Can I have some cake too? It's hot here in Cambridgeshire - I think a nice latte is required...

I haven't checked (I will), but I suspect that Grayrigg Forest is too far east to be a Birkett. Nothing outwith the National Park boundaries is included.
