We've enjoyed this walk on two previous occasions. Today was different. It didn't rain.
Porthmadog was crowded with holiday makers, but after the short drive to Tremadog we set off up a steep green lane and saw just a couple of dog walkers during the next three hours.
After the steep ascent past clumps of enchanters nightshade, we entered an area of deep bracken. Can you spot Sue fighting her way through (above).
Soon we reached a lone standing stone, with views to Cnicht and the Moelwyns in the distance.
A little further on, this farmhouse still awaits renovation.
Some nearby properties have recently received that attention.
One of the delights of this walk is the views afforded to Porthmadog and the Glaslyn estuary, here from our afternoon tea halt.
From here it's a steep descent through more deep bracken, to an old tramway then a cycle route that leads past the hospital and back to Tremadog.
The walk was about 9km, with 370 metres ascent. It took us 3 hours today.

What's the fancy shirt Sue is wearing? Looks good.
It's the TGO Challenge t-shirt from 2018...
