TGO Challenge - Wild Camps (No 54: 15 May 2014)

After a sociable stay at Newtonmore Hostel, a late start (after breakfast with David Wishart at the transport cafe), and a bus back to rejoin my route at Dalwhinnie, followed by an easy walk over Carn na Caim, I pitched camp before 5 pm at NN 795 817, on lovely soft turf near some waterfalls at Bruach Gharbh Ghaig.

A chap called 'Mole' and his mate Ed arrived, chatted, and moved on. But Markus and Philipp, arriving at 6:15, discounted any thought of continuing further and pitched their tents nearby in this great spot at 650 metres.

The weather was fine - the tent stayed open all night.

I can't find the relevant post now, so I'll leave my comment on this one instead. You said a while ago that comments were rare these days but that you still seem to be getting page views. I just wanted to say that whilst I'm getting worse and worse at leaving comments (I do compose them in my head, but hate typing on my phone and try not to spend much time on my laptop so they seldom become reality), I am still reading and enjoying!

Most of the time I probably don't appear in your stats either, as I read via a RSS reader.

Hi Gayle, I'm pleased to know that you enjoy some of my postings. Whilst it's sometimes nice to receive comments, my entries are really just a personal indulgence and a means of keeping in daily contact with my 95 year old mother, for whom reading whatever blog posting I can manage is one of the highlights of her day. Sad? The postings from days long past, and their mediocre photos, attract a surprising number of emails and good wishes from the people featured, so they are most worthwhile.

Keep going with your own entries, and maybe we can 'Zoom' soon?

I had good intentions of replying to this comment last night, except that after a good period of searching, I couldn't find it. It was this morning before I realised I was searching on the wrong blog (i.e. mine, not yours). Oh dear!

A Zoom call would be very welcome. Go ahead and pick a time that suits you and send me an email - the emptiness of our diaries is such that you'll do well to chose a time when we're not available (I say about to jump into the car and head up to Ma-in-Law to take her for her second jab tomorrow).
