Wythenshawe parkrun number 541. I renewed acquaintance with Bianca, who I met during the Altrincham 10km race (reported on here). We set off at the back and after a chatty run we finished in positions 212 and 213 out of 288 participants, in 32:52. Andy, Robin (the composer), Owen and Jenny joined us for post run coffees, and it turned out that Owen was going to watch Sale Sharks, for whom Bianca's husband plays rugby, later in the day. We hope he enjoyed the Sharks' victory over Caldy.
Sunday morning found me marshalling at 'Alty-in' for the Wythenshawe Community Run. Sue joind the 93 runners and finished in a leisurely 28:34. (She was 25:10 and first in her age category yesterday.)
Here are pictures taken while I was waiting for the runners.
I recently wrote about some work taking place at a 'CML Work Site' here (below). The workmen have gone away, and the scramble up to the railway line doesn't need the ladder that the workmen used.
You can just about see from the next picture that passage across the bridge over the canal is blocked, and a similar blockage is found along the railway in the other direction, so there's not much point in trying to visit this short section of disused railway.
Later, a 5km walk in the rain, and here I am in De Quincey Park.
