It has been a sad day.
John, our next door neighbour, passed away, peacefully, at home, at the age of 85.
He was a lovely man and the best of neighbours. We will miss our chats over the garden fence, our shared pots of tea, showing him the pictures of our trips, and chatting about mutually adored places such as the Pyrenees.
Our condolences go to all his family and friends at this sad time.

I'm back home in Australia now ... we too are sad, though we are happy to have known that Dad had such good neighbours over the last number of years. Dad loved your chocolate shortbread and so did we! It was good to see you at Dad's birthday party on 4th and his funeral on 8th. A bientot!
Thank you John.
It was so good to be able to spend time with you and other members of John's family over the past couple of weeks, and indeed with some of our other neighbours. It's a shame it had to be in such circumstances, but many of us would, we suspect, be more than content if we could match the full and selfless life that John led.
With all best wishes
Martin and Sue
