A Grand Day Out

The first few days of March have seen a welcome change in the weather, and my first trip of the year to the central Lake District.

Here I am near the summit of Great Gable on Wednesday lunch time.

A view from Great Gable - 2/3/11

A write up of that day and others in this enjoyable week will follow during the course of next week, as we are due to depart shortly for a few internet free days, plus we have a visitor who deserves better than to be abandoned in favour of a computer desk…

I look forward to reading the reports on your trip. Always good to have some time away from the computer....

Very nice. Indeed, the recent improvement in the weather's been very welcome -- my own exploits have been limited to the Goyt Valley, but it's been nice to get out in something other oppressive overcast and freezing rain.

Yup, that photograph was clearly taken by an expert....something or other.

The one time I was up there with Dave there was zero visibility and we got a little lost on the descent. Would love to return and see something.

Thanks, everyone, especially JJ, Grand Master of the Art of Photography, who I omitted to mention was the genius behind the image.
[Now that'll have him thinking..."What does Martin want now!!"]
