Another Pyrenean Adventure
In a few minutes I’ll be embarking on another Pyrenean Adventure, this time on the Spanish side, in an attempt to walk from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, mostly along the GR11 waymarked route, if I can find it.
I’ll try to report in the usual manner as my journey, for which I’ve allowed nearly eight weeks, progresses.

In 2003 my GR10 took 52 days, but I think the GR11 is tougher. I would like to have done the GR11, but I do not speak any Spanish whereas I an fairly comfortable with French. I would have only been 63 then - I don't think I would be up to it now.
I will be watching for your posts and I am sure it will be a great adventure. DO IT WHILE YOU CAN. Good luck,
Good luck with your venture - looking forward to reading your reports.
Thanks Conrad, and Jules. I'm feeling a bit fragile at present given my total lack of Spanish, but I don't think it will be harder than GR10, albeit heat and water could raise occasional difficulties.
The forecast is dreadful for this week, so camping may be limited.
Have a good trip Martin. May the sun shine (eventually!) on your adventure.
Have a good trip Martin. Looking forward to the reports.
All the best Martin. Two of the most useful phrases in Spanish I find to be are: Una cerveza por favor., and
Dónde están los baños?
I.e One beer please, and where are the toilets?
Thanks Gibson, Alan and the ever helpful 'Nightbird' from whom added advice and comment is always excellent value and very welcome. I'll always remember asking for a 'lager' at an Austrian mountain hut and being shown to a dormitory...
Right then!
Good Lord, Man! I see it is another epic adventure you have set out upon! (I have just found this post after spotting your Day 13 entry) The Whole Shaboodle, eh?
I shall settle myself down for an afternoon of catch-up!
Good Luck, Sir!
